Auction Now is a Shopify app built by Raremarq that lets you run live auctions directly on your storefront. It helps you drive sales, create urgency, and earn more with competitive bidding.
Click 'Create New Auction' above to get started. Then, just choose your product, set the start price, start time, and end time, and launch it. It's that simple!
Yes! When creating a new auction, you can set a future start time. Your auction will automatically go live at the scheduled time.
Yes, you can run as many simultaneous auctions as you'd like. Each product can only be in one auction at a time, but you can list different products all at once.
Yes! We automatically tag your products with the 'Auction' tag and automatically create a Smart Collection for you called 'Auctions'. With these automations, you'll automatically get a dedicated page of all your auctions which you can add to your navigation bar or link to.
Bidders will sign in to their Shopify account to be able to place a bid and add auctions to their watchlist. There are no fees to bid, and they are committing to pay if you win an auction. To bid, slide the bid slider all the way to the right to make a bid at the suggested amount. Sliding will instantly create a bid, and the next bid amount will be based on the current bid and the next increment. You can create a max bid to bid automatically for you up to your max bid. If a bid is made near the end of an auction, the auction end time will be extended by 30 seconds to prevent sniping. By sliding to bid, you commit to buy the listing if you are the winning bidder. If you are the winner, we will email you with a link to complete payment. If you fail to make payment within 24 hours, you may be at risk of being banned from our store.
Buyers must log in to their account on your store to place bids. Be sure Customer Accounts are enabled in your Shopify admin settings.
Bids appear in real-time on the product page, showing the current highest bid and the bidder's masked name (e.g., Chr****). This helps drive engagement while respecting privacy.
Our bidding slider will show the next bidding increment based on the current bid. The bidding increments are: Below $30: $1, $30-$49: $2, $50-$99: $3, $100-$299: $5, $300-$999: $10, $1000-$1999: $20, $2000 or more: $50. You can create a max bid to bid automatically for you up to your max bid.
Yes! Our Soft Close technology extends an auction by 30 seconds if a bid is entered in the last 5 minutes of the auction ending. In the future, we will allow you to customize our Soft Close technology for your store.
You'll receive free, unlimited email alerts for all key auction activity. As the Shopify store owner, you get notified when a new bid is placed and when an order is created for a completed auction. Bidders receive alerts if they've been outbid, a daily summary of the highest bid when there's recent activity, and reminders when an auction they've bid on is ending in 1 hour and in 20 minutes. Watchers get the same daily summaries and 20-minute and 1-hour reminders.
If an auction ends and there is a bidder, we automatically make a draft order for the auction and send emails to you and the winning bidder.

Auction Now is free to get started, and we take a small percentage of the sale only if your auctions result in a winning bid. Our fee is charged as a Usage Charge through the Shopify app, and our fee is only calculated on the final bid amount of the auction, and the charge is made when the draft order is paid. We do not charge fees on add-ons, taxes, or any additional purchases made after the auction is completed. The usage charge will not appear in the order detail page; instead, Shopify bills usage charges to your Shopify account and typically bills usage charges at the end of your monthly billing cycle (about every 30 days).
