Combined shipping for auction winners on Shopify

Combined shipping means a bidder who wins multiple auctions from the same store pays for them in a single order with one shipping charge; Auction Now does this automatically by rolling a winner's unpaid wins into one Shopify draft order.

Your best auction customers win more than one item. If every win generates its own checkout with its own shipping fee, they pay shipping three times for one box, get annoyed, and bid less next time. Combined shipping fixes that, and it's one of the features merchants ask about most.

How Auction Now combines orders

  • When a bidder wins an auction, the app creates a draft order and emails a checkout link.
  • If the same bidder wins another auction before paying, the new item is added to the same draft order rather than creating a second one.
  • The checkout shows one shipping rate for the combined cart, calculated by your normal Shopify shipping settings.
  • The bidder pays once; you get one order and ship one package.

Nothing to configure. It uses your existing shipping profiles, so weight-based or price-based rates work as they do for any other order.

Make the most of it

  • Stagger end times so bidders can win several items in one session.
  • Set a payment window (24 hours by default) long enough for a bidder to finish bidding on a batch before paying.
  • Mention combined shipping in your auction descriptions — it's a reason to bid on more items.

Frequently asked questions

Does combined shipping work with local pickup?

Yes. The combined draft order goes through your normal checkout, so any delivery method you offer is available.
